I don’t know where to begin. Let’s watch and break it down.
First off, there was nothing better than being on primetime in the ’90s. Nothing. Every game felt like it was the game of the century. Two team helmets giving each other CTE. The sultry pipes of Frank “The Giff” Gifford introducing the titanic matchup. Hank Williams Jr. getting all the rednecks hopped up on Mountain Dew. The Arrowhead crowd going bananas for Elway vs. Montana…and what’s this? Vanessa Williams? I did not expect that one. At all.
Stuff like this leaves no doubt in my mind. The 1990s was the pinnacle of American sports culture. This is art.
